Jenn , James Bordeaux Born 1814 Died 1878. Wife Huntkalutawin a Brule Lakota woman.
I read alot and seem to remember a audioiography I read about his daughter Susan Bordeaux Bettelyous , born I think about 1857 in Wyoming .
Try Nebraska State Hist. Soc. I believe she lived on the Rosebed Reservation also. Final years
lived Old Soldier Home in So. Dakota.
I seem to remember a life story about James , Missouri Country ? Oh a son named Louie also.

FUNNY I WAS TALKING TO LIONEL BORDEAUX THE OTHER DAY AND HE SAID THAT THERE IS A MUSEUM THAT IS ALL ABOUT BORDEAUX AND HIS CONTRIBUTION TO THE AREA...I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE TOWN IS, BUT IT IS IN NEBRASKA...LIONEL BORDEAUX IS PRESIDENT AT SINTE GLESKA IN ROSEBUD...JON

I'm trying to find info on Louis Bordeaux, the son of James and Huntkalutawin. He was the brother of Susan Bettleyoun and the father of William J. Bordeaux. Louis was an interpreter on the Rosebud Reservation and later farmed there.

You should come up with a book called Conversations with Crazy Horse, written by Louis's son William . it also has William's photo .
1900 US census for rosebud Ind. Res.,Meyer,SD lists Louis Sr. Age 50 b. Nov. 1849 NE, Father born MO,Mother Born SD
Julia bordeaux wife age 40 b.Jul 1859 WY,Father and mother born MO
children:
Lulu,leah,Alfred,Louis,Jr., and William. Also listed is a niece Lucile Dubray Age 5 yrs.
ancestry did n't give me anything else.
You might also try typing Biography Louis Bordeaux,Indian Interpretor and see what you get.

Hi, got some information on James Bordeaux. His father Pierre Bordeaux, mother, Theresa Petit. James wife, Supiwin (Annie) children are Alexander, Sr., Martha and Charles. Huntkalutkawin (Marie) children are Susan, Mary, Antoine, Louis, John, William and Keva. Any new information would be welcome to fill in gaps, thanks

This is so crazy to re-read.
I first read this a few years ago as a Bordeaux descendant when I was first trying to understand where I came from. I really want to visit the historical sites someday.
